A young, spry Brian went on his first hike in April of this year. My friend Kevin and I decided to do an early hike up McHugh Peak, which still had plenty of snow at higher elevations. He did pretty well for his first time on a long hike (he had done Flattop a couple of times already.) He was, however, very skittish and would whimper whenever we ran into any kind of steep dropoff. He has since gotten over that particular problem!
